PRESENT STUDIO, BARCELONA

Carlos Ribes and the press he built for me.

The new press ready to go. The bed is 30mm MDF board. The rollers are 1220mm wide and the bed is 1220 x 2400mm. The press, like most of the furniture in my studio has wheels so I can move it around easily.

BACKYARD SHEERNESS

This is the first press I made 1200mm wide to print large collaborative prints I made with Karl Ghattas. The top roller I made with a 5cm rubber coating thinking I could get away without using the blankets. It was a good idea that could possibly work with linocuts but didn't work for these prints. The press served its purpose though.

STUDIO 1 BARCELONA

My second press made using bits and pieces of scrap MDF from a furniture maker and bits and pieces collected around Sheerness where I was living at the time. It worked well enough for a 5 years until the rollers snapped under too much pressure. After that I went to Carlos and with the help of Doug Forsythes etching plans we made the ¨Bessie Martha¨(in honour of my Gran who left me the money which payed for the press)
